Consultant - Multimedia Policy/Guidelines Booklet Designer

UNICEF’s IT Solutions and Services (ITSS) division is seeking to enhance its communications and information access presence in the agency’s intranet. ITSS maintains several polices and procedures for the benefit of our 25,000 colleagues in the field. These policies need to be translated in plain language expressing the material scope and communicated in a vivid and usable manner.

Main functions, duties and responsibilities:

1. Review the existing policy and guidelines document and confer with UNICEF to establish the content of the policy/guidelines electronic booklet
2. Design the booklet’s interface and navigational paradigm using popular technologies such as dynamic html, flash, and others in adherence to UNICEF’s presentation and branding standards.
3. Design and create artwork for booklet
4. Conceive, design, illustrate and complete layouts, and other materials in support of establishing the policy booklet. The content itself will be the responsibility of UNICEF; however the booklet should also be printable in pdf form by users throughout the world
5. Document features and technology with emphasis on future maintainability. Establish a mechanism for accessing the booklet in several languages. UNICEF will be responsible for the translation.
6. This booklet is not anticipated to exceed 50 pages

Interim/Final Output Required:

* Booklet paradigm including navigation, search and dynamic features
* Establish booklet with UNICEF content
* Incorporate in current web site via a link
* Documentation depicting the operational aspects, design and all functionality of the new web site.


Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:

* Proven experience in overall web design with specific examples depicting governmental or other static content heavy paradigms.
* Experience with Adobe suite of products to design and implement various web and print publications
* Web design and maintenance experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
* Familiar with SharePoint, Web Part and Master Pages model, InfoPath development, XML, XSLT, CAML, XSD, CSS, JavaScript, web services; ADO.NET, LINQ, SQL Server 2000\2005.
* Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
* Microsoft SharePoint Designer
* Windows SharePoint Services (WSS)
* Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF)
* Portal architecture and maintenance


Duration: Initial 3 months - April 15, 2009 – July 15, 2009 – renewable upon performance.

Compensation : To be decided. Applicants to provide quotes based on expected outputs and responsibilities
